Franklin Southampton Economic Development, Inc. is pleased to announce the sixth installment of STARTUP Franklin Southampton. The business plan competition provides financial assistance and business training within the City of Franklin and Southampton County limits. If you are interested in sponsoring the program, please contact Franklin Southampton Economic Development.

Participants in the program must submit an online application, attend seven business courses provided by various business instructors, submit a completed business plan, and pitch the business to a panel of community leaders. One grand prize winner will be selected with a monetary award of $20,000. One runner-up winner will be selected with a monetary award of $10,000.

Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions, and other forms of assistance to small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration assists primarily through its four programmatic functions: Access to Capital (Business Financing), Entrepreneurial Development (Education, Information, Technical Assistance, and training), Government Contracting (Federal Procurement), and Advocacy (Voice for Small Business).
