Career and Technical Education Expo
Franklin City Public School is hosting its Career and Technical Education (CTE) Expo on Thursday, May 23 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Franklin High School, 310 Crescent Drive, Franklin, Virginia.
CTE programs in Virginia public schools serve thousands of students in one or more courses, with programs designed to prepare young people for productive futures while meeting the Commonwealth’s need for well trained and industry certified technical workers. Currently, the high school offers several CTE programs, including Building Trades; Computer Information Systems; Criminal Justice; Culinary Arts; JROTC; Marketing; Nursing and Electrical and Welding in collaboration with Camp Community College.
As a public school district, Franklin City Public Schools are a non profit entity with the mission of accelerating, innovating, and transforming to become a premier school division that encourages community partnerships, hands on learning, and real world experiences through promoting high academic standards, social emotional development, and research based practices for all students by recruiting, retaining, developing, and investing in a diverse workforce in a safe and supportive environment. This event is marked as the first CTE Expo in preparation for the opening of the new CTE center in the fall, an opportunity to benefit both participating organizations as well as our district and students.
