Franklin Southampton Hosted DRIVE Tourism+ Workshop with the VTC
Franklin Southampton Economic Development, Inc. (FSEDI) proudly serves as the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Southampton County and leads economic development for both Southampton County and the City of Franklin. Our community had been selected to participate in Virginia Tourism’s competitive grant program, DRIVE Tourism+, which will help us pursue exciting new amenities—like kayak rental kiosks—for our area.
As part of the grant program, we hosted a community workshop through the DRIVE Tourism+ program. The Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) DRIVE Tourism+ grant program builds on the latest research and strategies from the Virginia Tourism Corporation, as well as insights gained from travel trends over the past few years. The goal is to extend visitor length of stay and the downstream economic growth benefits that come with it. This event allowed community partners the chance to share ideas and help shape the future of tourism in Franklin Southampton. Together with the Virginia Tourism Corporation, we’re working to create a welcoming destination and a shared vision for our community’s future!
