Karl Heck travels with SelectUSA Roadshow to Türkiye

Franklin Southampton Economic Development, Inc. (FSEDI) President and CEO, Karl Heck, was part of the SelectUSA RoadShow to Türkiye during February.  The RoadShow gave economic development organizations from five states and one regional organization an opportunity to meet Turkish business owners interested in investing in the United States in three cities: Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.   Karl also met with representatives of a trade organization, as well as with Güknur Gida, the parent company of Global Concentrate, during the trip.  The connection to SelectUSA gave FSEDI an opportunity that would be difficult to replicate without their support.  Combining a site visit with a company that is locating in Franklin with the opportunity to meet with additional prospects maximizes the value of this visit. 

The pictures show the SelectUSA group in Istanbul at the Chamber of Industry meeting event, as well as at a separate event held at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul.

Karl was supported by Antje Abshoff of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Henry Gaston of the Hampton Roads Alliance.  FSEDI is a member of the Hampton Roads Alliance, supporting the City of Franklin and Southampton County’s participation in the regional economic development organization.
