Southampton County Receives Funding through the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program (VBRSP)

Southampton County, with the assistance of FSEDI, is receiving $223,000 in funding through the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program (VBRSP).  The funding will be used for a variety of due diligence items at the Beale Farm that will raise the Tier level of the site in the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) ranking system, making it more likely that the Beale Farm will become a high-value industrial site in the near future.

Southampton County has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the work, which includes surveying, archeology, topography and wetland delineation.  It is anticipated that a firm to complete the work will be selected in the next few weeks and work will be completed during 2025.  The VBRSP is an annual competition that VEDP holds.  In 2024, only about 25% of the total value of the projects could be funded.

FSEDI also recently had TechArk, their website company, complete a drone shoot of the Beale Farm property.  The footage will be available on the fsediva.com website very soon.
