The Beale Farm property was designated as a Tier 4 Certified Business Ready Site by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership in late May.  The designation comes after the purchase of the property by Southampton County allowed FSEDI to use that money to match VEDP funding through the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program that allowed the Timmons Group to complete $223,000 of site work necessary to raise the Tier level of the property from Tier 2 to Tier 4.  Tier 4 sites are considered certified business ready and are more desired by site selectors and businesses looking to locate larger facilities.

The 203-acre Beale Farm site continues to be marketed to site selectors and businesses looking to locate large facilities.  Its rail access and proximity to major thoroughfares are large advantages for certain users.
